Defending Our Democracy: A Critical Conversation with Duff Conacher Tuesday, March 4, 2025 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET Citizens' Climate Lobby Canada invites you to a special discussion with Duff Conacher, co-founder of Democracy Watch, on how we can best defend our democracy against foreign interference—before the next election. Why This Matters There are two crucial bills that must pass before an election is called: - A Government Bill that was nearly through Parliament and with unanimous vote could proceed - A private members from the Bloc that was nearly through and with unanimous vote could proceed too With the threat of an early election looming, we need just one party to oppose a non-confidence motion so these bills can become law first. We will be introducing an email campaign to Political Leaders and our MPs: Calling for elections to be delayed until key recommendations from the Hoque Inquiry are fulfilled and critical democracy-protection bills continue from where they left off and are passed. 2.
